The Auxiliary of Westminster Village, originally called The Auxiliary of Lehigh Manor, began in 1973 when Presbyterian Homes, Inc. purchased an existing home within the bounds of the Lehigh Presbytery. At that time, many women in the Presbytery became interested in helping to provide a home-like atmosphere and amenities to the residents. The group was established to raise money to purchase special items not included in the budget. Its first major project was the Lemon Tree Bazaar which still continues today. In 1980, the name was changed to Westminster Village to reflect the expansion to become a Continuing Care Retirement Community serving residents in all levels of care.
Over the years, the Auxiliary has faithfully raised over $1,000,000 to assist with the following:
Opened in 1980, the Gift Shop at Westminster Village is operated by the Auxiliary. It provides residents, staff and visitors a place to purchase some of necessities as well as cards, snacks, and gifts. Also, it offers the opportunity to volunteer and interact with others.
Auxiliary members are active volunteers at Westminster Village. They help with in-house resident transport, assist with resident activities, help residents on outings, and much more.
Nothing in our history would have been possible without the many dedicated members. We look forward to helping to provide for the needs of residents of Westminster Village for many years to come.
We invite you to help support the mission of the Auxiliary of Westminster Village. All are welcomed – all are needed!
