Independent Living at a Life Plan Community

A life plan community, also known as a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), provides multiple living options on one campus. Residents typically move into independent living residences where they often remain throughout their life.  If the care needs of a  resident change as they age, the opportunity to move within the campus to a more supportive environment is available.  Think of it as putting a plan in place for your life, so you don't move during a crisis or leave life decisions up to someone else. 

The monthly fees in independent living at a life plan community cover the cost of living in the residence of your choosing.  In most communities utilities and a dining plan is also included.  Your monthly fee also includes opportunities for social engagement such as clubs, activities, entertainment, fitness and scheduled trips and outings.   

What happens if you are with us longer than your resources last? No one has ever been asked to leave the Presbyterian Senior Living system of care because they had outlived their resources. There is, however, an application process, which requires that eligibility for Medical Assistance and other third-party reimbursements be maintained. Divesting assets through gifts, trusts or in other ways could disqualify you for this assistance or result in a longer time period before which you would qualify.
