Giving Residents the Opportunity to Live Active, Fulfilling Lives

Current Campaigns

If you know Ware Presbyterian Village – as a resident, family member, business associate or friend – you know this is a special place.  Our goal in all we do is to give residents the opportunity to live active, fulfilling lives in the company of caring neighbors and friends.

The Village Care Fund was established with an initial anonymous gift of $75,000$75,000 to Ware Presbyterian Village in 2002 to celebrate Presbyterian Homes’ 75th Anniversary and Ware’s 25th. This gift initiated an endowment fund, The Village Care Fund, with its income used for charitable care for residents of all Ware neighborhoods – health center, personal care and independent living – in financial need.  The Fund’s principal remains intact under the terms of the gift.

Gifts of any amount are gratefully received and there are many options for making a contribution, including arrangements that can provide income back to the donor. Gifts may be made to directly support the needs of our residents, activities, and projects at Ware Presbyterian Village.  Below are specific funds that have been previously established:

  • Auxiliary – The mission of the all-volunteer Auxiliary is to raise funds to be used to enhance the lives of residents receiving Personal Care and long-term care services.
  • Eng Scholarship Fund - This fund established by Charles and Tai Eng awards annual educational scholarships to employees who pursue a career in any field, are wishing to achieve a certification, or want to attend a continuing education course.
  • Florence Nightingale Scholarship Fund – This endowment, established by Charles and Dolores (Peg) Middleton, awards annual educational scholarships to employees who pursue a career in nursing.
  • Guardian Angel Fund – Also established by the Middletons, this endowed fund is dedicated to the charitable care needs of residents with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of memory impairment.
  • Remember, Honor, Celebrate Tribute Program – You can recognize a special occasion or accomplishment (birthday, anniversary, graduation), say “thank you” to caregivers or other staff, or memorialize a special person with a lasting gift to this fund. You may designate your gift to a particular project or area of Ware, such as charitable care, or allow us to use your gift where it is most needed.
  • Bequests – Provide opportunities for individuals to promote and carry out their wishes on how their assets will be used by future generations.  Many individuals may not be in a financial position to make an immediate gift during their lifetime, but provisions in a will can convey one’s wishes to an organization of their choosing.  We strongly recommend that you carefully consider this arrangement in relation to your comprehensive financial and estate plans.  Please consult an attorney in the preparation of your will and to supervise its execution so as to comply with state requirements.

The following is our new Community Enhancements appeal. We ask that you consider making a gift as a tribute to the Founders of Ware Presbyterian Village. Your annual gifts totaling $150 or more to the Community Enhancements fund will qualify you for membership in the Founder's Club at Ware Presbyterian Village. Each year the Executive Director and the Senior Leadership Team at Ware identify multiple items that are needed around the campus to improve and enhance the quality of life for residents in all levels of living - Independent, Personal Care and Skilled Care. These can be items for the Ware Mansion, Steward Place, Vista Ridge or the Oxford Health Center and change from year to year. Some examples may be a sound system for the mansion, artwork for Vista Ridge or glider chairs for the residents in the health center. Any gift you can provide will close the "gap of excellence" in the Ware operating budget and provide much needed support for those we are called to serve. This tribute to the Founders of Ware Presbyterian Village helps fulfill their vision to provide a loving home for others when the mansion and 26 acres of land were donated in 1967 to Presbyterian Homes, Inc. forming the nucleus of Ware Presyberian Village.

Let it Snow Benevolent Care Fund – When we give to the Ware Presbyterian Village benevolent care fund, we are helping to provide assistance for those friends and neighbors who have exhausted their financial resources while residing at Ware Presbyterian Village. In 2017, $4,600,000 in benevolent care was provided for residents who outlived their financial resources. By continuing to grow the benevolent care fund, residents can be assured of assistance both now and in the years to come. Please know that 100% of all donations go to your community’s benevolent care fund.

Ware House Campaign – By all accounts, Clara May “Babbie” Ware, the last owner of “The Woods” aka the Ware Mansion, had a gift for creating a loving home and knew how to make her guests feel special while they were with her. By opening the Ware House on the first floor of the mansion, the Ware staff wish to offer residents, friends and family again that special feeling of home in a warm and welcoming space that Babbie Ware created with love and laughter in this beautiful place. Our goal is to raise $20,000 through donations, $20,000 through business sponsorships and $10,000 through the May 11 Taste and Tour of Oxford event.  We can then redesign the kitchen space with additional cabinetry, lighting and signs and purchase equipment such as display cases, menu boards, coffee grinder and espresso machine.  This new space will be known as the Ware House and we would like to have this open by this summer. Your gift will make this happen!
