Frequently Asked Questions

What are the income guidelines for your community?

Income guidelines are established based on Area Median Income; this community serves seniors who fall below 60% Area Median Income. Applicants are qualified for apartments based on their gross annual income.

Where am I on the waiting list?

We do not give out "positions/numbers" on the waiting list. We may reaffirm your "date and time" of application, however, because we have one waiting list for apartments with multiple set-asides, the income guidelines for these apartments often overlap. Applicants are required to notify us if their income changes from when they submit an application. When an apartment is becoming available and it appears the applicant(s) will meet the income requirements for that apartment, they are called to see if they are interested in the apartment.

How is rent determined?

Rents are determined by the income set-aside of the apartment. Rent amount is the same for all apartments in that set-aside whether a resident's income is near the bottom or top of that set-aside range. For example, if an applicant qualifies for a 50% set-aside, then rent is whatever is published for the 50% set-aside. See the community's Rate Sheet for more information.

Must you be Presbyterian to live there?

No, all are welcome regardless of religious affiliation.

Do you have to live in Pennsylvania to move there?

No, there is no residency requirement.

Are the apartments subsidized?

No, however, we accept Housing Choice Vouchers and VASH vouchers.
