A Tax-Smart Way to Give: Did You Know You Can Support PSL and Save on Taxes?

If you have an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and are aged 70 1/2 or older, you may make a tax-free gift directly from your IRA to support the community you hold dear.

Benefits of an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

• Allows individuals age 70 1/2 or older to transfer up to $111,000 in 2026 (adjusted annually for inflation) directly from an IRA to a qualified charity.
• Couples filing jointly may each qualify for annual QCDs, for a potential total of $222,000 in 2026.
• Satisfies your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.
• Reduces your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions, because no taxes are owed on the transfer.

How Does an IRA QCD Work?

• Contact your IRA plan administrator or account custodian to directly transfer a gift from your IRA to PSL or your community. If you need the EIN, contact Mission Support by calling 717-502-8872 or e-mailing MissionSupport@psl.org.

• The check should be made payable to Presbyterian Senior Living or your community. If a memo line is available, please include the fund you wish to support. Fund information can be found at www.psl.org/give or contact Mission Support by calling 717-502-8872 or e-mailing MissionSupport@psl.org.

• Because not all custodians provide donor information, we ask that you notify us when you initiate an IRA QCD to ensure proper processing.

• To receive tax benefit for the current year, complete your QCD before December 31. Please allow two to three weeks for processing by your custodian.
