Celebrating Generosity at the Glen Meadows Donor Appreciation Reception
Mission Support & Philanthropy
On October 1, residents, team members, and supporters gathered in the Great Hall for the Glen Meadows Donor Appreciation Reception, a special event dedicated to recognizing those who made a gift in 2025 to PSL in support of Glen Meadows.
The morning was filled with gratitude, fellowship, and inspiring reminders of the impact philanthropy has on the lives of residents, team members, and the Glen Meadows community.
A Legacy of Generosity
President and CEO Dan Davis welcomed attendees by reflecting on the importance of generosity in the history of Presbyterian Senior Living and Glen Meadows.
Nearly a century ago, Ellen Parker's gift of her farmhouse and 91 acres helped launch a mission that continues to touch lives today.
"That single act of philanthropy set in motion a mission that has touched countless lives for nearly a century," Davis shared. "And it continues today for one simple reason: people like you."
He thanked donors for their commitment to Glen Meadows and reminded attendees that every gift directly supports the purpose for which it is intended, strengthening community, supporting residents and team members, and enriching lives.
The Difference Donors Make
Bethanie Constant, Vice President of Mission Support, highlighted the tangible impact donor support has at Glen Meadows.
She noted that the Resident Assistance fund continues to provide critical support to neighbor. In 2025, 11 Glen Meadows residents received more than $470,000 in Resident Assistance to help cover housing fees, meals, health insurance premiums, medical care, and other necessities.
In addition, Presbyterian Senior Living provided more than $744,000 to help cover the gap between the cost of care and medical assistance reimbursement rates for 12 residents.
Attendees heard heartfelt testimonials from residents who have benefited from Resident Assistance. Their stories reflected the peace of mind, stability, and dignity made possible through the generosity of others.
Constant also thanked donors for their overall support of the community. In 2025, gifts from residents, friends, family members, team members, and supporters totaled $41,379 in support of Glen Meadows.
"Looking around this room, I don't just see donors; I see partners, believers, and change-makers," she said. "I see neighbors helping neighbors. I see residents helping team members. I see team members helping residents and each other.”
A Community That Cares
Resident, donor, and volunteer Ann McConaughy offered a heartfelt perspective on what makes Glen Meadows such a special place.
She described a community that consistently shows up for one another, sharing time, talents, and resources to ensure neighbors are cared for and opportunities continue to grow.
McConaughy recalled a friend who was able to remain part of the community despite financial challenges because of the support available through philanthropy. She emphasized that gifts to funds such as Resident Assistance, Health and Well-Being across the Continuum, Scholarships, and Team Member Assistance fund bring inspiration and joy into the daily lives of residents and team members.
"The guiding principle here is simple: this is our community. This is our home," she said. "We want to take care of it and each other."
Recognizing Team Member Philanthropists
Executive Director Julianne Devaney concluded the program by expressing gratitude for the generosity that allows Glen Meadows to meet the needs of residents, support dedicated team members, and continually strengthen the community.
She also recognized the many team members who contribute philanthropically to Glen Meadows each year. In 2025, team member gifts totaled $7,245.
Special recognition was given to Tyrone Wessley and Catherine McDermott for their leadership of the Team Giving campaign, helping foster a culture of generosity among Glen Meadows team members.
Thank You
The reception served as a powerful reminder that philanthropy is about more than dollars raised. It is about neighbors helping neighbors, ensuring residents receive the care and support they need, investing in team members, and strengthening the community for generations to come.
To everyone who made a gift to Glen Meadows in 2025: thank you. Your generosity is helping create a community where people can continue to live with purpose, dignity, connection, and peace of mind. Because of you, lives are being changed every day.
