Honoring Donors Who Make a Difference at Presbyterian Village

Mission Support & Philanthropy

Friends and neighbors recently gathered in Inglenook Commons for a special afternoon of fellowship, gratitude, and celebration at the Presbyterian Village Donor Appreciation Reception.

Hosted by Presbyterian Senior Living's Mission Support team, the event recognized residents, team members, family members, and friends whose generosity helped strengthen the community throughout 2025. Attendees reflected on memories from the past year, shared stories of community life, and celebrated the many programs, services, and improvements made possible through donor support.

Dan Davis, President and CEO of Presbyterian Senior Living, welcomed guests and thanked donors for carrying forward a legacy of generosity that began nearly 100 years ago with PSL founder Ellen Parker.

"That single act of philanthropy set in motion a mission that has touched countless lives for nearly a century," Davis shared. "And it continues today for one simple reason: people like you."

He emphasized that every gift makes a direct impact. Because 100% of donor contributions support their intended purpose, gifts help build community, promote wholeness of body, mind, and spirit, and empower residents and team members. Through their generosity, donors continue to strengthen lives and sustain the mission for future generations.

Bethanie Constant, Vice President of Mission Support, highlighted the tangible impact donors have on the lives of residents and team members.

In 2025, contributions to the Resident Assistance Fund helped 8 residents at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg receive more than $318,000 in support for housing, meals, healthcare expenses, and other necessities. In addition, PSL provided more than $2.3 million to help cover the gap between the cost of care and medical assistance reimbursement rates for 47 residents.

Donors also helped provide emergency assistance to team members facing unexpected hardships. Through the Team Member Assistance Fund, 4 team members received grants totaling $2,750 to help navigate crises such as medical emergencies, accidents, and funeral expenses.

When all contributions from residents, family members, friends, team members, and supporters were combined, more than $191,000 was donated to Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg in 2025.

The reception also celebrated the spirit of community philanthropy. Guests shared stories about why they choose to give and how investing in the community helps ensure Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg remains a vibrant place to live, work, and thrive.

A highlight of the morning was hearing from donor, board and committee member Terry Goldstein, who shared why supporting Presbyterian Village is important to him. His remarks served as a heartfelt reminder that every gift helps strengthen the community and create opportunities for others.

Executive Director Heather Loucks concluded the program by recognizing the generosity of team members, whose gifts in 2025 totaled $10,625. She also thanked campaign leaders Sherry Baker and Leigh Ann McMullen for helping inspire participation across the community.
