PSL Enhances Communication, Training to Support Multilingual Team Members

Presbyterian Senior Living recognizes our team members bring diverse backgrounds and languages to our organization. For this reason, PSL strives to ensure each team member has equitable access to information and resources when possible. By offering different language options for training materials, benefit information and company communications, we can ensure all team members can engage and receive necessary information.

Relias: Training for Senior Living Team Members

Relias is an online training system utilized by all PSL team members. Each team member is assigned required training courses which must be taken at the time of hire and annually. Along with the assigned required training courses, Relias offers hundreds of helpful courses relating to workplace safety, compliance and ethics, HIPPA, cybersecurity, and working with older adults.

Given that all team members utilize this website, the option is available for team members to select their preferred language. On the login page of Relias, the user can immediately change the website’s language prior to signing in. The site language can also be changed after logging into the system by selecting My Account. The website’s default is English but offers language changes to Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Chinese, Filipino, Haitian Creole and Russian.

In addition to navigating the website in a preferred language, most courses assigned to team members are also available to take in the other languages. It is as simple as clicking on the Filters taskbar, which allows team members to view courses by language.

Accessing Human Resources Information

‘My HR’ is PSL’s Human Resources Information System. This system is frequently used by team members to find their compensation information, make changes to their benefits, and find important tax information. ‘My HR’ also holds important documents and communicates the PSL Insight newsletter. Many of the documents within the 'My HR' system are also translated into Spanish and have their own Spanish Document Library.

Within that Library, team members can find documents available for download in Spanish including the recent PSL Insights, the employee handbook, medical and retirement plan information, and much more.

PSL's Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to all team members at PSL whether full or part-time status. The EAP is a confidential and free mental health resource available online through Spring Health. Through Spring Health, team members have access to coaching and counseling sessions, online webinars, and video lessons that promote all around wellness.

When logging into Spring Health, team members can select their preferred language to not only navigate the website but also to access materials in that language. The website offers over 50 languages other than English. Once selected, the Spring Health platform provides almost all information and materials in the chosen language. This option removes barriers to important care and ensures team members have access to mental health support in a clear way without added stress or misunderstanding.

Creating a More Inclusion Workplace

Providing training and resources in multiple languages is a meaningful step towards a more inclusive workplace. Presbyterian Senior Living is committed to growing alongside our ever-evolving workforce by continuing to explore ways we can make learning and resources more accessible and by partnering with online systems that support language accessibility.
