Memory Care at PSL

Our team members who work in memory care neighborhoods are following a calling to care. Our support includes a daily focus not just on the clinical needs of the individual but meeting the needs of the whole person— spiritual, physical, intellectual, vocational, social, and emotional. We do this by helping each individual find meaning and purpose in their day with engagement in meaningful activity. This may be on a one-to-one basis, independently, or in a small group program. Compassionate Touch, aromatherapy, music engagement, craft projects, volunteer opportunities, exercise and movement, spiritual health and pet visits are just some of the ways we use to find daily purpose.

What is Memory Care?

PSL focuses on a “Your Journey Forward” approach that seeks to enable people living with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of memory impairment to capitalize on their strengths, enhance existing abilities, and experience moments of joy, comfort, and security in each day’s journey.

This begins by gaining an understanding of the person. Their history, areas of interest, what brings a smile or makes them upset are all important as we work together to uncover those things that will give moments of meaning, purpose, and feelings of security.

"While visiting my dad in Memory Support at PSL, I observed many heartwarming interactions between staff and residents. What really impressed me was how the staff worked together to keep the residents safe. Residents are treated as individuals, not as a group. The patience and dedication that the staff shows toward my dad and all of the residents are remarkable. Thank you for all you do for our loved ones. There is a special place in heaven for people who give so selflessly."

"The residents and the staff at PSL are always very, very helpful in making my mother the most comfortable she can be. Residents stop by and visit with my mother, invite her places, and in general they look for my mom in a way that caring, thoughtful individuals do. When my mother made the transition to memory care, she experienced thoughtful care and support. I am sincerely grateful and appreciative for all PSL and the members of the community have done for my mother. Memory Support at PSL is a great place for the aging community to live and their loved ones can feel confident that they are being well taken care of."
